News influencers still post mainly on X
News influencers still post more content — and more regularly — on X, despite Bluesky’s growing popularity in the past six months.
New data from Pew Research Center shows Bluesky’s ‘market share’ with this group has doubled from 21% to 43% since US Election Day last November. However, 81% of news influencers remain active on X, with the vast majority posting at least four times per week.
Big Instagram creators get new comment filters
Popular Instagram creators can now sift through comments more easily thanks to new filters.
Meta announced over the weekend that accounts with over 100k followers will be able to sort replies by ‘Top comments’, ‘Newest first’, and ‘Follower count’ — helping them better engage with their fanbase.
SEO still relevant in AI age, study finds
Traditional SEO remains essential, even in the age of AI-driven search. A new study by ZipTie found that high organic rankings are key to visibility in both Google’s AI Overviews and ChatGPT citations.
ZipTie CEO Tomasz Rudzki said:
“The higher you rank in Google’s top 10, the more likely you are to appear in AI search results across platforms. This isn’t speculation – it’s based on real queries from real users.”
Their study, which analysed 25,000 user searches, found that top-ranking organic sites appear in AI search answers 25% of the time.
Meta says new Community Notes are working
Meta’s revamped Community Notes system is reducing errors across its platforms. The company revealed it has cut moderation and enforcement mistakes by 50% since launching the feature in April.
Inspired by a similar tool on X, Meta’s version lets users add context to posts that may appear misleading. The feature is now live across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
LinkedIn publishes influencer market guide for B2B brands
LinkedIn has released a detailed guide aimed at helping B2B brands tap into influencer marketing.
The report emphasises that B2B buyers don’t consume content “casually or passively” but instead:
“Integrate it purposefully into their buying process, leaning on it as a trusted form of endorsement at every important stage of discovery and decision-making.”
LinkedIn is now the top platform for B2B buyers to engage with content — used by 66% of respondents. It ranks ahead of Instagram (52%), Facebook (49%), and X (39%). The most popular formats include video (63%), followed by social posts (55%) and webinars (53%).
Google ranking volatility heats up
Search rankings on Google were particularly volatile during the final week of May. SEMrush recorded a volatility score of 9.1 on 30 May — placing it in the “very high” category.
It’s now been almost three months since Google’s first broad core update of the year. While there have been clear signs of instability, no official announcement has been made about a second update. Historically, Google launches around four major search algorithm updates each year.
